SPL competitors, here's the real deal! Designed to maximize Sound Pressure
Level, Dynamat's Dynaplate is the ultimate vibration killer — an
extremely thin, super-lightweight (0.16 pounds per sq. ft.) damping material,
with a pressure-sensitive adhesive for easy installation.
A two-layer application of Dynaplate structurally reinforces your car body
panels for maximum SPL, eliminating the "ballooning effect" common in
SPL vehicles. If your goal is low weight and extreme performance, Dynaplate is
your best sound damping choice. One sheet covers an average-sized door. (This
kit includes three 24" x 30" sheets totaling about 15 square feet.)
Features
Materials: Dynaplate
consists of two separate layers. The first layer is a 1 mil reinforced,
aluminized heat reflector and water/oil barrier. The second layer is a super
aggressive adhesive with an "EZ Peel" release liner.
Vibration Absorption: Dynaplate
absorbs vibrations better than Dynamat Original at 1/4 the weight.
EZ Peel-N-Stick: The "EZ
Peel" release liner makes for an easy installation.
Installation
Instructions:
For proper installation, follow these instructions:
- Thoroughly clean
each mounting surface with a quick-drying solvent that is residue free
(Isopropyl Alcohol, Acetone or Lacquer thinner), removing any grease, dirt,
oil, wax, moisture or rust. With the surface clean and smooth, a permanent
bond is assured.
- Using a razor knife
or scissors, cut to the desired shape and size. Remove release liner. On
large area applications, remove only a portion (8-10 inches) of release
liner at a time, working your way down and across the panel in sections.
- Heating the panel
surface you are mounting to before applying the material is recommended to
insure proper adhesion. Also, heating the Dynaplate will make the glue
stickier. This will keep the Dynaplate in full contact with the panel,
maximizing material efficiency.
- Apply the Dynaplate
to the panel surface, starting at the top corner and working your way down
and across, pressing the material into place as you go. With a roller tool,
burnish the Dynaplate to the surface. Starting from the center, work it into
all contours of the panel. Even if it's a smooth panel, rolling the material
will insure lasting adhesion and full contact with the panel surface
removing any trapped air.
